Rare Early CF-100, Fully Serviced
Factory order number 5745 dates to early 1951, and Gibson records show that this rare CF-100 shipped to C.A. House Music in Ohio on March 31, 1951. Gibson introduced the CF-100 in 1950 as an LG size flat top with a Florentine cutaway and deluxe inlays. This vintage Gibson flat top was previously owned by a professional recording artist, and includes the original chipboard case and tooled leather guitar strap.
Our inspection revealed an all original guitar with no previous repair work. Our luthier performed a neck reset and cleanly repaired two short top cracks. 12th fret string action now measures a comfortable 5/64″ on the high e string and 7/64″ on the low E string. The original X bracing is intact with no loose braces and the bridge plate is original. The original Brazilian Rosewood bridge is full height and has not been shaved down. The CF-100 has become an extremely sought after vintage Gibson, with good reason: they look cool and sound great.
