Postwar Martin 000
A classic Martin 000 built in the immediate postwar period. Some wartime production details carry over into 1946 including the open back Kluson tuners and the ebony rod neck support. This very original guitar retains its original finish, bridge, bridge plate, frets, tuners, nut and pickguard.
With no history of prior repairs, only minimal luthier work was required to bring this 000-18 back into service: a neck reset and several crack repairs including a pickguard crack and several short side cracks. Although the back of the body shows blemishes and scrapes from a belt buckle, the top is very clean and the back of the neck is smooth with a full profile.
It sounds great and looks just was cool with prominent stripes in the spruce top and a rich pattern in the original celluloid pickguard. Includes an old chipboard case with green lining.
