Rare First Year Narrow Panel Princeton
1955 was a wild year for Fender amps. The beginning of the narrow panel era brought many changes, small cabinets and one year only features. This rare 5E2 Princeton is the very first narrow panel version of the model. Check out the extremely low serial number P00116 and Lily signature on the label inside the amp. The circuit has a filter choke, evident on top of the chassis, and a negative feedback loop. The cabinet is the same size as the later narrow panel Champ with a tube cutout on the back panel. You also get the bonus of a tone control.
Recent light service by a qualified tech for maintenance purposes only. Service included a grounded 3 prong plug and replacing one capacitor stuffed inside the original Minimite sleeve to maintain the vintage look. The all important tweed, transformers and speaker are original. Vintage RCA rectifier and power tubes, the 12AX7 looks newer. The leather handle is an aged reproduction. Turn it up and enjoy the rare sounds of a special amp.
