Classic Old Factory Martin Dreadnought
Martin built this clean 1963 Martin D-28 in the old North Street factory using hot hide glue construction and premium straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. It has survived in very clean, original condition complete with its original Harptone case.
All necessary luthier work has been completed so you can enjoy this dreadnought right out of the box. The maintenance service included a neck reset and regluing the bridge. A barely visible pickguard crack was repaired and the rest of the guitar appears to be crack-free. The red-eye bridge pins and end pin are original to the guitar, and a strap button has already been installed.
The bridge, bridge plate, Grover tuners, pick guard and finish are all original. Comfortable setup with low action up the neck. Factory spec string height at 12th fret measures 5/64″ on the high e string and 7/64″ on the low E string with proper saddle height. The D-28 remains Martin’s most iconic model with enduring popularity and incredible sound.
