Vintage Narrow Panel Tweed Champ
Fender’s narrow panel Tweed Champ is famous for its raw and immediate sound with plenty of breakup. Just perfect for practice and recording. This 1962 Champ is the most desirable 5F1 tweed version with the 8″ speaker and narrow panel cabinet. The Champ was the last Fender amp to use tweed covering, and this one was made very near the end of the run in 1962. It still has its original Schumacher transformers and Oxford speaker.
The original tweed covering shows a nice patina, and the original leather handle is still in place. The vintage Raytheon tubes are likely original to this amp. Recently serviced by an expert tech who tested and cleaned all component and added a gray three prong plug with proper grounding. The previous owner had one capacitor replaced. South Florida Speaker Repair did a vintage correct recone of the original Oxford speaker, maintaining the original gasket.
