VINTAGE GIBSON SKYLARK TREMOLO
Just like the Fender Champ, the Gibson Skylark was marketed with a corresponding lapsteel guitar of the same name. The Gibson Catalog offered the Skylark Steel Guitar Outfit including both the Skylark guitar and amp. This GA-5T model is the more desirable version with optional tremolo effect and includes the original manual with circuit diagram.
Both transformers and the Jensen speaker are original to the amplifier. The original Gibson tubes still test strong. Recent maintenance work included a grounded 3 prong plug and replacing some capacitors and resistors. Now the tremolo effect works properly and the amp sounds crunchy and aggressive. The size and rich overdrive make for a perfect practice / rehearsal / bedroom amp for a fraction of the price of a tweed Champ.
