Vintage Resonator With History
National offered the Triolian model in several finishes, including the Walnut finish seen on this guitar with brown to yellow gradation. This Triolian was built in 1931 and purchased by its second owner while he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi during WWII. Lieutenant Perkins worked as a scientist in the chemical weapons division during the war effort.
The guitar remains in very pleasing factory original condition, and the painted finish is especially well preserved and vibrant. A neck reset and setup have been recently completed so the guitar plays with correct action and break angle over the saddle. A small dent is apparent at the edge of the body and the back of the neck show light wear near the nut. The resonator cone is original and the guitar includes the Bull’s Head case.
