Vintage Japanese Greco SG
Very cool SG Standard style guitar Made In Japan in the late 1980’s by Greco. Circa 1989 based on the 5 digit serial number starting with 9. Looking through the 1989 catalog, this would appear to be their SS63-60 model in the optional white finish that sold for 60,000 yen. Essentially a Polaris White SG standard with 2 humbuckers and a Duane Allman type stop tailpiece, a great configuration.
The finish is original, the neck joint is rock solid and the headstock is unbroken. The pickups are a set of Sheptones (about $400) with nickel covers and the caps look upgraded as well. Not sure if the potentiometers are original. The previous owner installed a set of mini Grover Rotomatics (note the screw holes on the back of the headstock outside the tuner footprint). Now has Kluson style tuners (possibly the originals?) back on with conversion bushings. I will include the Grovers for you in case you want to put them back. Also comes with a nice modern hard case. A wonderful utility or backup guitar for gigging and alternate tunings.
